Sini Laaksonen’s thunderous long-range strike for Finland against Korea DPR has been voted by FIFA.com’s users as the Goal of the Tournament at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014.
Laaksonen’s wonder strike gave her side a much-needed lifeline after going two goals down in the first half in their Group A match against the Asian side in the opening match of the tournament. Picking up the ball well outside the Korea DPR box, Laaksonen took a couple of steps forward and let fly with a stunning right-footed shot that sailed past Korea DPR ‘keeper Kim Chol Ok and into the upper left-hand corner of the net.
